2009 – present
Part-time Tutor at Oxford University’s Department of Continuing Education. Courses written and taught include Antipodean Film, Horror Films, Science Fiction films, Adaptation (Literature), introduction to European film, Great American film makers of the 1970s, Hitchcock, New York on film, Cronenberg and Lynch.
I have also directed a series of cultural studies day schools at Oxford. These interdisciplinary day schools bring together 4 lecturers from different subjects to talk about the influence of a particular city on the arts. Subjects have included Weimar Berlin, Jazz age New York, 1890s Vienna, 1920s Paris, Inspired by Venice and 1960s London.
Other lecturing and teaching
I have participated in the Hay Festival (2018/2019/2023) both as a speaker and workshop leader.
I delivered a lecture on the Representation of Titanic in the Media for the National Archives at Kew at their event on the 2012 Anniversary.
In 2019 I curated an exhibition about British Comics for the Bodleian Library.
