Freelance writing:
2002-2007 wrote feature articles on a variety of different subjects for several family history/ancestry magazines. These articles covered topics including the history of the dairy trade, the history of undertakers, Nelson’s Navy, the British Whaling industry, and Child Migration. In this period I also wrote photography book reviews for Digital Photography Magazine and DVD reviews for various magazines.
I also wrote feature articles for two seasons of the Royal Shakespeare Company’s play programmes.
2017 I wrote an essay about The Red Shoes which was published as part of a publicity campaign for Picture House Cinemas. The campaign won a national advertising award.
